RAYCHEM FrostGuard self-regulating heating cable for heating steel and PVC pipes in which water flows is installed as frost protection. Terminated with a two-meter power cable with a plug for contact.
- Designed for pipes: PVC, metal, stainless steel and copper.

Self-regulating heating cables deliver the right amount of heat exactly where it is needed. When the ambient temperature drops, the cable generates more heat. When the temperature rises, the amount of heat generated decreases.

Installation of the cable on the outside or inside the pipe?
External mounting is much simpler but possible only for pipes to which we have access. Suitable power heating cable is enough to install in the amount of one strand along the pipe and insulate.
The case is different when the pipe freezes in the wall or floor and we do not have access to it to fix the cable. There is also a solution for this. The heating cable is installed inside the pipe, it is introduced with the help of a special pressure gland RAYCHEM ETL-GLAND-01 (to be purchased separately). It is absolutely necessary for this purpose to use heating cables approved for installation inside pipes and for contact with drinking water, such as RAYCHEM FrostGuard.

Is an additional thermostat needed for the self-regulating cable?
RAYCHEM FrostGuard self-regulating heating sets do not require thermostats, nevertheless, to minimize electricity costs completely, a RYCHEM FrostGuard-ECO socket thermostat can be used (to be purchased separately).
